Chris Salcedo went off on fake Republicans on his Newsmax Show today as he described exactly what MAGA America 1st Republicans here in Arkansas have been living through the last few years:
MAGA Republicans and America 1st ideals are shut out here in Arkansas — something you’d think dang nigh impossible, what with Republican Governor phenom Sarah Sanders and a Republican super-majority in both our Arkansas House and Arkansas Senate.
In 2024, after MAGA Republicans had worked to become voting delegates at the State GOP Convention, over 600 attendees (largest-EVER State Convention) voted in many historic changes, including rules to
close Republican primaries (to close out cross-over Democrat voters),
make judges' races partisan (so people know the political background of judicial candidates), and
remove the long-standing policy of giving each elected Republican an automatic vote at the state GOP level.
Delegates turned down Governor Sanders' endorsed RPA Chairman Joseph Wood and instead elected then-2nd District Chair Jennifer Lancaster to run that 13-hour-long Convention in the face of massive obstruction from the State Party.
Afterward the Republican Party of Arkansas officially nullified the entire Convention.
For their efforts Republican party members across the state have been ostracized and ignored; Lancaster’s entire County Committee of over 200 members was disbanded. The Convention Chair Jennifer Lancaster, a Republican attorney who's worked the last two election cycles for the RNC on election matters, was removed from all state party offices and banned from Party membership for 20 years.
Lancaster is now one of the plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit MAGA Republicans/Convention delegates have filed seeking a resolution to these actions. Otherwise, it appears America First Republican voters in Arkansas have been effectively muzzled within the Republican Party of Arkansas. “How can these Republicans …!!?”
I know I'm prejudiced, however this article is great! The video could have been about Arkansas. The RPA seems to be like other state's Republican Party organization - part of the problem and not of the solution. Time to primary every one of them who don't live up to the platform. Spoiler alert - none of them live up to the platform. What a shame, a platform that defines super concepts and no one lives it. I suppose the Uniparty is alive and well in Arkansas.
Read the article and watch the video. It's time well spent.
Fake republicans aren’t the issue, it’s fake conservatives. Look at state and federal legislators who all call themselves conservative but can’t get above a C or D Liberty score.
Then, the party backs liberal and moderate RINOS, turns a blind eye to their voting and support of terrible legislation.
