Survey shows: “President Donald Trump has a commanding lead over Vice President Kamala Harris,” says the early September Talk Business & Politics-Hendrix College Poll of about 700 Arkansas voters that shows Trump leading Harris 55-40%. What’s Governor Sanders’ approval rating? What do those 700 “likely voters” say about the proposed Constitutional amendments on our November ballot?
Follow the money: The RPA’s September “Reports of Receipts and Disbursements” to the Federal Election Commission is worth a look if, for no other reason, than it’s “good to know.”
Fighting tax hikes: “Citizens for an Affordable Little Rock” filed as a ballot question committee with the Arkansas Ethics Commission to “expressly advocate for the defeat of the proposed Little Rock sales tax increase.” Former Pulaski County GOP State Committeewoman June Matheny is the treasurer; former Pulaski County GOP Secretary Reed Martin and RPA 1st Vice Chair John Parke are other officers.
Ft. Smith threats to the Governor: 66-year-old Susan Scott was sentenced in Sebastian Circuit Court after she pleaded guilty to making a bomb threat against Governor Sanders on June 14 “and continued to make threats against Sanders when officers arrested her at home,” per investigators. Why did Sanders and police agree to the sentence Scott received?

Governor as “Moderator” Governor Sarah Sanders moderated President Trump’s recent town hall in Flint, Michigan last week, which gained press attention as his first campaign appearance since a second assassination attempt at his golf course on West Palm Beach golf course on September 15. (Wonder if the Governor discussed anything about presidential electors and the disarray within the Republican Party of Arkansas with Trump while they were together?)
