Alice Stewart, 58, a CNN political commentator with Arkansas “roots,” passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. From the state’s “Democrats-only” days, she served as Governor Mike Huckabee’s press secretary and was part of his 2008 presidential campaign staff.
The Republican Party of Arkansas State Committee met on May 18 and elected 24 individuals to attend the RNC Convention in Milwaukee in July. The members also voted against a proposed Rules change that would have changed the State Committee’s approval threshold from 50%+1 to 2/3rds. The State Convention now meets in Rogers on Saturday, June 8.

House brings next Farm Bill: Democrats say the $1.5 trillion bill that funds various programs for 5 years takes “food out of the mouths of America’s hungry children,” while Republicans are eyeing the bill’s new reporting requirements for the foreign purchase of farmland, among other provisions. (Senator John Boozman, the ranking member of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, plays a leading role in the Senate.)
Our “foreign-born” (illegal and legal) population grew by 5.1 million over the last 2 years! How much longer can our beloved United States withstand this onslaught of illegal “migrants”??
