Several lawmakers filed Resolutions dealing with cryptomining, and State Senators passed most all those Resolutions this week, the first few days of the biennial legislative Fiscal Session (where it takes 2/3 vote of each body to pass non-appropriation “money” bills). These pieces of corrective legislation are set to be considered in the House next week.
State lawmakers on the Joint Performance Review Committee sparred with Corrections Board members and the CFO after claiming the Board’s newly hired attorney illegally wrote a contract “against procurement law, meaning they can’t sign off on it. Right now, the board’s attorney is owed more than $100,000 dollars."
The Legislature’s Peer Review Subcommittee (part of the Joint Budget Committee) is set to consider the “temporary appropriation” for the Department of Corrections at its 8am meeting on Tuesday, April 16 in the Big Mac building.
Womack was named chair of the subcommittee after U.S. Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla., moved from the position to chair of the full House Appropriations Committee. Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas, who did not seek re-election to Congress, stepped down as committee chair in March.
This comes after several Republican Congressmen (former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Representatives Patrick McHenry, Ken Buck, and Mike Gallagher, for example) have abandoned the House, which led the Republicans to rearrange it leadership positions.

The U.S. Capitol Police Chief defended his agency budget to Congressional lawmakers this week, “saying the department is preparing for major upcoming events — including another potential Jan. 6 — by trying to grow the size of its force and overhauling its intelligence gathering activities.” Lawmakers asked
“how exactly the agency has updated its thinking, staffing and tactics since the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol building by pro-Trump rioters. Dozens of police officers were injured in that attack and two law enforcement officers died as a result of that day … The insurrection disrupted Congress certifying the Electoral College votes to affirm President Joe Biden’s win in the election. That was the first time the United States didn’t have a peaceful transition of power.
We show you the above excerpt (from the ArkansasAdvocate) for two reasons: First, be aware that it’s not just the Capitol Police “growing the size of its force and overhauling its intelligence gathering activities” as the Left ramps up its already ridiculous rhetoric surrounding January 6 and we go through this election year. (Read the article for more information, just consider the source!) Secondly, this is a clear example of what the Left is telling its readers — what at least half of the country is being led to believe is the TRUTH about that day. It’s important to understand just how the propaganda works.
